You may file a Petition for Dissolution in the County where you reside. If you do not have a current address at which your husband may be served, you may need to effect service by publication. If your husband is not subject to the jurisdiction of the Court, you will still be able to obtain a Dissolution of Marriage although the court will not be able to enter any Order requiring your husband to pay child support or maintenance. I would strongly suggest that you hire an attorney to assist you. The cost may vary but many attorneys require a retainer fee of $1500 or more in order to take a case such as this. You would also be required to pay the filing fee, the costs of publication and any other costs incurred. Good luck.
