Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My soon to be EXhusband adopted my son, and we seperated in 2008. When I left, and moved to Virginia with my son, my EXhusband immediately let it be known that he didn't want anything at all to do with my son. I know that he is legally responsible for my son now that he has adopted him, however, my son is now 12, and knows how he feels, and doesn't want to have any part of him hanging over him....not even his name.

What can I do to reverse this adoption? Change my son's name? Terminate his rights? OR, can I do anything at all?

The adoption took place in Chillicothe, Missouri. (Livingston County)

There may be nothing you can do to reverse the adoption. As far as termianting the parental rights of your ex, it is the same as if the chidl was his biological Son. The courts will probably nto do it until another man is reayd to adopt the boy, or there is a proveable allegation of abuse by yoru ex.

Good luck
