Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My ex-wife was ordered to pay me child support for our son. She has not paid anything in 3 years. I don't push the issue since it's minimal each month, and I keep track of the amount due, and it's close to $8000. Can she get in trouble for this on her own or do I have to do something about it? Does the court apply interest to the past amount due?

First, interest does accrue on unpaid child support. Second, you can open a file with the DFS and obtain assistance in collecting child support at no cost to you. Third, you may be able to file a complaint through the prosecutor's office and your ex may be charged with criminal non-support. Fouth, you can file a Motion forContempt and have the Court that ordered the child support enforce its order. Good luck.
