Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
family law
I have a baby that is currently in St. Louis children's hospital that was born on 08/08/08. The mother and I have seperated and every visit I have at the hospital turns in to a cussing match in the babies room and I end up having to leave to avoid this. Mom is now saying the baby is not mine and I can't see him anymore. I am 19 and only want to take care of my baby. How can I get visitation in the hospital when mom is saying baby is not mine? Please help me.

Re: family law
You are nineteen and you've fathered a child? Were you married to the mother of the child when the child was born? If not, then you do not have any right to visit with the child because you are not the legal father of the child. You would need to hire an attorney, file a lawsuit to determine paternity, and prove that you are the biological father of the child in order to have the Court award you rights concerning custody and visitation. In all likelihood the Court will also Order you to pay child support and possible the medical expenses incurred by the mother. We do this type of thing all of the time, and you may call my office if you would like a consultation.
