Family Law: Custody/Visitation

An attorney is working for a lawfirm. The Judge, before he became prosecuting atty and then Judge, worked for the same law office as this attorney. The attorney and the Judge are hearing over a case together. Is there a conflict of interest since the Judges old boss and the attorneys current boss is the same man?
