Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Fathers rights (Missouri)
My 4 month old daughter's father and I are no longer together, since a month after her birth (we were not married) I have been allowing him to spend several hours, 3-4 days a week in my home with her since we broke-up. He has never given me any support or supplies for her, before or since her birth. He doesn't have a job, and I would rather he just go away. Can I just refuse him access to her, since there is no court order for visitation? And then wait for him to sue me for visitation? With the hope he will do nothing..please advise

Legally he does not have any right to see the child until he obtains a court order. Apparently you thought enough of him to make a baby with him. How are things so different now? Perhaps you should consider what is best for the child. The law presumes that what is best for the child is to have a meaningful relationship with both parents, and that includes meaningful parenting time. People would certainly avoid a great deal of legal trouble and expense if they would only wait to have children until they are married.
