Fathers rights of unborn baby

What are my rights as a father of an unborn child as far as being present at the delivery of the child. Also do I have a right to have the child have my last name?

Re: Fathers rights of unborn baby

Are you married to the unborn child's mother? If not, then you are not the legal father of the child and have virtually no "rights". Unless you marry the mother before the child is born, you will have to wait until the child is born and then seek a judicial Determination of Paternity. Once the Court declares you to be the legal father of the child you will have 'rights". If you are married to the mother, then you have the same legal rights as she does regarding the naming of the child. The question about you having a legal right to be in the room during the delivery is a unique one. I would suppose that the doctor delivering the child would be able to control who was in the room for the medical benefit of the patient(s).
