Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Financially Responsiblity

I have a 20 year son who is physcially disabled with Muscular Dystrophy a progressive chronic condition, he lives with us, is not able to work and does receive SSI benefits, I am his caregiver since he needs assistance with everyday needs, we were able to keep him covered under our health insurance because of his disability, he is not mentally disabled in any way, he also has Missouri Medicad, I was curious if we are financially responsiblity for medical bills since he is still carried under our insurance, when we do go to the doctor he is able to sign forms that state he is the responsible party.

Re: Financially Responsiblity

You are not responsible for his debts especially if he is mentally able to sign for his debts. However you should consider applying for guardianship of your son.
