Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My girlfriend has 3 kids and is divorced. Over a year ago, her oldest daughter said that her father had been touching her and demonstrated it to NASV -network agains sexual violence-. Although they believed the child, no charges were filed against the father. Now, a year later, the boy is saying that his dad just recently touched him too and he knows nothing about his older sister's stuff.

The mother has legal custody and the father is allowed supervised visits, however, the supervisors are always the fathers direct family so he is in no way being supervised.

It's gets weirder. The brother of the father was convicted with possesion of child pronography and he is around the kids during their visits to their father.

We don't know how to protect these kids from more danger and no one is doing anything about it.

We live in Cape Girardeau Missouri. What can we do to protect them from this danger?

Who can help us? These kids are crying out for help and all they know is that no one is doing anything to protect them. The girl cries when she has to go see 'daddy' because she says she's afraid her will touch her 'down there' again.

You should repor the boy's allegations to the family court or at least the Missouri Hotline. If his statement is corroborated by ateacher, clergy or other neutral adult. (not that he wa sabused, but that he say she was) it might help the situation. Divorced spouses often make false accusations of abuse by their ex. The custodail parent often convinces the child to make the claim. Therefore, investigators sometimes take claims with a grain of salt where the child is young, and the ex (and/or step) are the only adults reporting the the child made the accusation against the non-custodila parent.

As to the uncle, your wife should raise that issue with the family court. Perhaps a neutral or paid visitation monitor can be set. Your wife might have to foot the bill for this for a while.

Good luck
