Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My girlfriends ex husband wants her to sign her rights away so that their son can be adopted by the grandmother. Girlfriend wants custody but has been hit with back child support and has been paying. Is there anything she can do?

Owing back child support is not enough for a parent to lose their parental rights. However, she might consider what would be best for the child.
