Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Grandfather passed away
My Grandfather just passed away 2 weeks ago. My Father was an only child. My Step Grandmother didn't have any kids of her own, but has 7 nieces and nephews. My Father's name has been on their checking account and all their CD's payable upon death of both. My Grandparents also went to an Attorney and has papers drawn up leaving their house to my Father upon death. My Step Grandmother's nieces and nephews have been TRYING to talk her into switching EVERYTHING into ONE of the nephews' name. Since she is a Step Mother, does my Dad stand a chance if they were to try and do something like this? (they were married the same year

Re: Grandfather passed away
There are some exceptions, but generally when one dies, there property is devided between their surviving spouse and their children of previous unions. Your situation sounds complicated. Too complicated for asimple answer here. You should consult with a probate attorney in your area.
