grandparent rights

can a grandparent get visitation rights if both parents are married , living in the same home together with children ? We never hurt our children in any way and grandfather wants rights because he thinks he does not seen them enough but he has seen them every two week in our home. he said if we don't bring them to his home he was going to fight for rights. he call 11 times in 3 hours forcing us to change our phone numbers. do we have any rights as parents to say how we bring up our children? without being threated on being took to court ? thank you, From scared in Missouri s

You absolutely have the right to decide how much time, if any, your children spend with a grandparent. In the event that a child's parents go through a divorce, the grandparents can file a Motion to become parties in the divorce case and ask the judge to award them specific terms of visitation. The judge may or may not do so. Under your facts, you have no reason to fear, and you should tell the grandfather to stop making idle threats.
