Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
I have a great nephew that wants to divorce his dad and step mom.He is 14 years old.His real mother gets him every two weeks (I believe).Anyway,he wants to live with his mom and stepdad. His dad and stepmom kept him back another year in the same grade. His grades were three A's,two B's,one C and one D.The coach even called his home to talk to his dad and stepmom, they threw a fit. There are alot of other things that have happened to where this child is downgraded and very unhappy. He stated today that he would run away. When his dad insisted that the school keep him back a year, the dad and stepmom had to sign some kind of form. The boy`s mother was never contacted about this. She was not ware of this till he went to spend this week-en with her.Would it be a good idea for him to write the judge a letter about him wanting to not live with his dad?

No. Our legal system does not work by people writin gletters to the judge. Mom should file a Motion in court seeking a transer of custody if that is what she wants. If the child runs away, he may wind up in the juvenile detention center.
