If a guardian ad litem wants to meet u at his office and doesn't want to meet the child is that a bad sign in a custody dispute?

Not necessarily. When I am a GAL I typically like to meet the child in a neutral location (like school) where the child knows the parent isn't sitting right outside in the waiting room. Also, if the child is too young the GAL might decide it is not necessary to meet them unless he or she needs to look the child over for abuse issues. Even then that is typically better done by other professionals trained to look for those things.

Not necessarily he probably wants to assess the parents' skills and attitudes before he sees the child.
