Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Hello,\n\nI am an Indian citizen working in the US. My husband had medical issues and left me and my daughter (now 4 1/2 yrs) and gave up his job and went back to India to recover from the pain. We have been separated for the past 2 years. He has not recovered and the doctors evaluating him now think it is more psychological issue. For the past 2 years he phone calls went down and I did try my best to keep the communication going but his interest in everything thing went down. Now he is staying all alone not interested even in calling up and talking to our daughter. If I ask when will you start your activities and the answer always has been \"When I get completely better\". I have waited long enough and I talked with him about divorce and his answer was \'Suit yourself\'.\nQuestions:\n1. Can I get a divorce on the grounds of separation and I am hoping to go for a mutual one? I did visit him once 6 months back for a week and things were not good.\n2. I would like to keep the custody of my daughter as she stays with me and he is not working. Will that be a problem?\n3. I am not interested in the earnings that he has before he left work but would like some monetary help in case I lost my job. Will that be possible?\n4. In the current situation am I supposed to pay any alimony to him though he does have sufficient earnings that I have not used after I started working? If I do how much % of my pay will it be?\n5. If I try to get the divorce in India do I need to do anything more in the US?\n\nThanks a lot for taking the time to answer my questions. \n

To answer your first question, you do not have to plead any grounds for a divorce in Missouri. To answer the rest of your questions I would be happy to offer you a free consultation.
