Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Home Ownership at divorce

My husband and I are divorcing. We have sold the home

we owned together. I moved into an apartment and he

purchased a house. Since our divorce is not final

do I have any rights to that house? My name is not

on the deed or the loan. We live in St. Louis County

Missouri

Re: Home Ownership at divorce

Are you represented by legal counsel in the divorce? If not, you should be. If your are, then you should direct all of yor legal questions to your own attorney. Generally speaking, if your husband put any money down on his new home or made any payments on his new home, then he probably did so with marital assets, and so, you would have some claim to make against that property. Again, you need to go over this and a lot of other things with your attorney before you and your husband complicate matters any further. I have handled hundreds of divorces, and if you are not already represented, I may be able to offer my services. For a free telephone consultation, you may call me at 314-727-2822.
