Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
My husband and I got married in on June 21, 2008...he works overseas (not in the military) and is home for quite awhile now. We seperated while both overseas on Jan. 2010 (I came home to the states immediately) and I began to file for divorce..but didnt have the money to pay for it all at once.. We both started dating other people in Feb. and I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant in July...My husband, my new boyfriend, and I have no doubts on who the father is. I am due March 3. But, have a heart condition and will be having her in February. How do I go about this divorce the fastest way?
1 Answer from Attorneys
You will not be granted a Dissolution of Marriage while you are pregnant. If you already have an attorney, you should obviously consult with your attorney. If you are not represented, then you need to hire an attorney to represent you in both the Dissolution of Marriage case and a Petition to Determine Paternity case, both of which can be processed at the same time in the same court. Perhaps your husband and your boyfriend would be willing to help you with the financial costs of hiring an attorney and obtaining the Judgments that you need. If not, it is possible that a Judge would Order them to do so. I have handled a large number of these matters over the thirty-three years I have been practicing law. You may certainly call me for a free telephone consultation.
