Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
My husband & I have been married for only 3 months. I suggested he leave after him wanting to place my 9 year old in his bed to lay down & stare at the ceiling for months as a punishment for back talking. I felt it was a type of inprisonment. After our split, I tried working on our marriage, he agreed, but then would go back & forth. One minute he loved me, the next he hated me. I discovered a few things, one of which was him sexting a female "friend" of his that he has had since middle school. I said it was cheating, but he says it isn't because we were separated, but we are still legally married. We have since both agreed on a divorce & I want to get this done & over with but he is procrastinating and says he will file whenever he gets the money. I want to split the costs & do it quick & simple. My question is, can I get a lawyer & get this started & make it to where my husband has to pay for my lawyer? Also, can I get anything, such as alimony since I have proof of him sexting or cheating as I see it?

No lawyer will wait for him to pay and the cheating doesn't likely get you anymore.
