Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My husband is in the military. We were living in New Jersey with him where he was stationed. We have a 10 month old daughter and he told us to leave and move back in with my parents in Missouri. I am a stay at home mom and we've been married for 1 year. I was wanting to know what I was entitled to as far as alimony and child support. I'm wanting to file for a separation because I found out the were another woman he was seeing. I also want to make sure my daughter and I are taking care of atleast until I'm finished with school but I'm not sure what I'm entitled to. I also know the military does things differntly. So if you could give me some advise that would be great. I just don't even know where to start.

If you establish residence here in Missouri, you can file for divorce, and get atemporary custody and support order. The military is usually pretty good about making sure support orders are honored for active duty service members. It is unlcear whether you will be ale to remain an unemployed parent, or have wages imputed to you, should you choose not to earn money after filing. Go see a lawyer in your area, who can go over this with you in more detail. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
