Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

MY husband was just told by an ex sexual friend that a child she had 2 years ago may be his since the guy she was sure was the father took a DNA test and was determined not to be the dad, the woman receives welfare and medicaid so the state is looking for a paternity to pay back assistance, is my husband responsible for back support if he's the father and did not know?
