Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Jurisdiction & Venue (Missouri or Illinois)
My spouse & I volunarly separated in 10/99. We both lived in St. Louis, MO. We divided our property and particpated in Joint Shared Custody (50%/50%). In 4/01 I moved to Clayton, MO. My spouse moved to Bellevile, IL in 7/01.
She took our girls to IL w/o my knowledge for 2 mos. She called 9/01 to ask for child support and to let me see our girls.
I received petition 2/02 from St. Louis City Courts, met and decided to settle our terms w/o going to trail and used my attorney to draw up the papers.
I received the summons from Child Support in MO in 3/02, after that I received a new petition 5/02 filed in St. Clair Co., IL.
All cases are still open -- who has jurisdiction?

Re: Jurisdiction & Venue (Missouri or Illinois)
Since you admit in your question that you have an attorney, I would suggest that you call your attorney and obtain your legal advice from him or her. Your attorney already knows the history of the case and the background of your factual situation.
