Those are very serious allegations. How do you know that your lawyer drank two fifths of vodka? Your question is written in such a way as to imply that he went to court on your case and drank that much. How can this possibly be? Do they allow people to drink alcohol in the courts where your case is pending? I can assure you that they do not in any of the many different courts I have been in. In most cases, I believe that it would be considered a violation of our rules of ethics to be under the influence of alcohol in court, and a complaint would result in an investigation at least. If your attorney does in fact have a drinking problem, the Missouri Bar has a program that helps that attorney deal with the problem and also protect the public from any harm that might come as a result of the drinking. Perhaps you could look into it by contacting the Missouri Bar and suggesting that you attorney enter into the program.
