Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I live in missouri. My daughter was born in 2010. At time of birth I gave her both mine, and the fathers last name. He DID NOT sign her birth certificate and it is left blank. He has not seen her since she as in the hospital when she was born over six years ago. Paternity was established as requested by the state of mo family services. I want to petition for a name change so she only has my last name. Can I do this? Does he have any rights to her? I often worry if I died, would they bring her to him and not my parents.
