Your duaghter may not be able to apoint aneone as her attorney in fact, ever, and especially not before she reaches teh age of majority. Therefore, you may need to petition the probate court in the county where she lives to appoint you as her guardian and maybe conservator too. that means you will decide where she lives, if he can undergo surgery or enter into acontact to buy or rent some thiings. There are limited guadianships and conservatorships, depending upon the level of capacity and competence of the individual. If your daughter is to start receiving some type of disability aid, but is otherwise fine with making her daily decision, then you may only have to be her payee for that disability check. If you are still puzzsled or concerned, make an appointment to meet with a probate attorney in yrou area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.
