Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I live in Missouri . The mother of my child and I were never married and have been apart for around 5yrs. In this time I have paid her for child support insurance and anything that become an issue concerning our child. All of this was a verbal agreement between us. Now she wants a court ordered support. Really don't want to drag our child through all this. Does any of the support I have given effect the court odered support?

Nothing you have given the Mother of your child will effect the court order. Your child support obligation will probably be determined using Form 14 based primarily upon the relative incomes of the parties. There are adjustments that many Fathers are entitled to using Form 14, but it is unlikely that you will get what you are entitled to without using the services of an attorney. Also, you apparently have no legal rights concerning this child. Your attorney will be able to advise you and take action to see to it that your legal rights and interests are protected. Do not try to go through this process without an attorney on your side!
