Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

How long after a judgement for custody is entered, should you wait to file a motion to modify? Also, if circumstances have changed for the custodial parent that are detremental to the child, what can be done to speed up the modification process. My daughter is in the custody of my ex-husband and he recently moved her into a single family home with 14 other people living there. when the judgement was filed the judge was not aware of that living situation. He is moving her out of the school district she has been in since kindergarden and she has (within the last week) cried to her teacher and school counselor about her home life. Thank you for your help!

You can file a motion to modify whenever there is a substantial and continuing change

in circumstances. You can file now.

Hope this helps
