Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Lost my job and want to know If I can modify child support

I was severed from DHL in October 2008 and have recently gone back to school and now collect unemployment. Can I modify my child support until I am out of school and find gameful employment! I live in Michigan and my son lives in Missouri. I have used an attorney in the past but of course would find it hard to hire one but I could probably borrow the money to hire one. Thanks for you help

If the Court Order for child support was issued in Missouri and your son lives in Missouri then you will need to file a Motion to Modify in Missouri (in the same court). You definitely do have a change in circumstances that could be the basis for a modification, but you should consult with an attorney to determine whether it would be practical to file now.
