First, it's "were", not "was". I mention this because your use of the English language to communicate is extremely important especially in legal matters. I've represented people who could not read, or write, but in today's world, there is no excuse. I've represented hundreds of people who had children out of wedlock (interesting phrase) but never understood why they put themselves and a child in that position. You have caused significant legal problems by your choice to procreate, or at least risk pregnancy, without the legal benefits of marriage. Now you, and more importantly by far your child will deal with the consequences. Legally, the biological Father has no rights whatever until a Court says so. He can file a lawsuit to get those rights determined by the Court, or you can file and get an Order for child support, which your child deserves, and which will Order legal custody. Either way, you're looking at thousands of dollars in legal fees and costs. Hire an attorney. Make the right decision for your child.
