Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
My mother is not financial or mentally capable of taking care of herself. She has racked up well over $100,000 in debt and has no job. She also has emotional and physically abused me in the past and still currently. There has been reports filled aganist her by my school counselor. And i have video and pictures proving my claim. But Here is where I have a problem, I am 17 years old (female) and she is 53 years old. She has everything POD payable on death to my step sister who dosent want anything to do with her (30 years old lives far away). My father has to pay $300 to her every month for child support and will have to pay for my college tuition. Which also needs to be stopped. The reason why i need POA is because I can not go on the rest of my life with her following me and assaulting me every where i go. What can I legally do since I am so young?

I am sorry that you are in this position. You have several options. Some you probably never considered. You need to select the best based upon the particular fascts of your situation. Find a family law or probate attorney in your area. Take whatever paperwork you have, and get oin to see one. !any offer a free initial consultation. You can't be the attorney-in,-fact for your mother, because of your age. But, since you aren't yet 18, you have options to trigger state assistance with housing and college, that others do not.
Good luck
Meet with an experienced family law attorney. If your mother is that bad someone needs to file for guardianship of her person, which manages health case and conservator of her estate which manages her money. That person if appointed then may have to file for bankruptcy on her debts.
