Mother with physical custody wants to move to another city

Mother with physical custody of the child wants to move to another city against the wishes of the child�s father

If a mother of a child wants to move to another city against the wishes of the father, and child is under joint custody where she has physical custody, what steps can father undertake to legally prevent mother from moving.

State � Missouri

City � Saint Louis

Mother wants to move to Chicago?

Is there a document, or a procedure that father can file with a court to explicitly prevent mother from moving with the child.

Mother is getting remarried before the move to Chicago!

Re: Mother with physical custody wants to move to another city

Mother must provide father with the written notice required by the relocation statute specifically in the manner required by statute. Then the father can file an objection or Motion with the Court seeking a Court Order. Most relocations are allowed if the custodial parent complies with the statute and provides for continued meaningful visitation. YOu will need an attorney.
