Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Moving out of state w/joint custody

I am divorced but remarried, my husband got a job in a different state. I have primary custody of my kids, with joint custody with my ex-husband. My ex has not seen the kids since Feb of 2007, the last address I know of was in Springfield Mo. I sent him a certified letter at that paticular address, I am not sure if he is still there or not. Not sure if I am right but I am thinking I need to send him a certified letter stating that I am moving with the kids to the new location within a 3 month period of the move..right? So do I send it to the only address I have? Not sure what to do.

The Missouri statute on relocation lists several specific items that you must include in your letter, so be sure to cover all of them. Also, once the father receives the letter, he has sisty days within which to file a pleading with the court objecting to the move. If he doesn't live at the only address you have, I would suggest that you do a diligent search to find his current address. If you need help you may call me at the office.
