Re: power of attonery
A parent can sign a special power of attorney under the applicable Missouri statute authorizing another person to care for a minor child for a period of up to one year. If you will be needed to care for your grandson for longer than one year then his parent can sign another power of attorney and so on until the parent is able to resume taking care of the child. Most attorneys can provide a legally enforceable document for you for a modest fee. If you do not have an attorney, you may contact me at the office.
