premarital agreements and law
is there a time limit on prenuptual agreements in the state of mo. i have been told several different things.(10 yrs)? also if a copy was destoryed by one party, how does the courts look at this.and are these agreements to be filed with the courthouse after signing them.

An agreement like the one you refer to is a contract that basically says," . . . if our marriage doesn't work out, then I get this and you get that." So some type of ten year time limit wouldn't make any sense. You do not file these with the court. If there is ever any dispute about the agreement which needs to be litigated, then you might be offering the agreement into evidence. It doesn't really matter if one party destroys or loses their copy as long as one original signed by both parties exists.
