Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
can I print up text messages and have a notary notarize them by showing them the messages on the phone so they can make sure the typed messages match exactly and use them in family court in Missouri? Is there a special format that should be used?

It does not seem that you can actually do what you propose, as few if any notaries would seal (notarize) that printout. But, you couldl write a statement whereby you swear "under pain and penalty of perjury that the attached text message printout is a true and accurate copy of the actually messages received (sent) from (to) number (???) ???-????" and then sign the statement (after attaching it to the printout) in front of the notary. The notary can notarize your signature to the statement, (which you have attached to the printout) which in effect makes the printout part of your affidavit. That affidavit (statement) may, in some cases, be entered as evidence in some court cases. If you need assistnace writing the statement, you may email me and I will try to assist you for a nominal fee.
