Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Pursuing full custody of my children

My Ex husband and I have mutually agreed on me getting full custody of our 2 daughters. He has moved out of state, and he has never followed the parenting plan (joint custody, visitation every other weekend) that we agreed on in our divorce 5 years ago. Hiring an attorney right now is not in the budget, and I heard you could write a letter to the courts with both signatures notarized, and the change may go into effect if the judge agrees. Is this true, and what would I need to put into the letter?

No, a divorce decree is not modified by a party writing a letter to a judge. I would suggest you save some money, borrow some money, or sell something you own to raise money to hire an attorney if this is important to you.

Good luck.
