i have raised my grand daughter 8 out of her nine years. my daughter first gave me guardianship then she terminated her parental rights with consent for me to adopt. this has all been filed with a judge in st. francious county, missouri.on the termanation of rights with consent to adopt there is a place for a judge to sign.can the judge who has her case sign this, and will this give me what i need to adopt? the judge also sent social service to my house for the guardianship to see my home and talk to my grand daughter. she told me she wrote a nice letter for the judge, and she believed i should adopt her. can you tell me what i need to do now?

You did not indicate whether you have obatined service upon the child's father in your Petition to adopt your granddaughter. Without this, it is very unlikely that the Judge will grant the adoption. Your attorney should have explained this to you. Call your attorney and see what they say the next step is.

Good luck
