recovery of over paid childsupport

how do i get my money back? my daughter graduated in may 2008. her mother said she was going to collage wich she did not i continued to pay my support until i could prove she was not attending any schools at wich point i contacted my case worker. i recently recieved a letter stating my support obligation was no longer. they said she was amansipated as of june 2008 my last payment was sent dec 2008 now i have overpayed 1960.00 how do i get my money back.

You can make a demand for repayment of the overage, and if the other parent is unwilling to cooperate you can file suit in order to obtain a judgment for the money. Once you have a judgment you can garnish wages, bank accounts, etc. or execute upon personal property. There may be other ways to collect the money depending upon various facts. Good luck!
