Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Im representing myself in a missour divorce. Before my spouse filed for divorce I had her removed from my work insurance during open enrollment. The judge says this is illegal and is making me pay her medical bills and to put her back on my insurance. My HR department says I did nothing illegal that they can see since it was done during open enrollment. I don't see where I did anything wrong either but the Judge insist that it's illegal. Please advise.
