Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
More Rights
I have had a paternity test and I pay my child support, and carry medical/dental insuranceon my child, yet I--name removed--t get regular visitations. When I do have my child my ex will call and tell me to bring my child back before the time planned. On top of all this, I have no idea where my child is now. My ex moved and left a number that has never worked. I--name removed--t even know if my child is ok.I am not informed of when or how my child is doing in school. The only time I am contacted is when my ex needs/wants more money. Isn't there anything I can do to get my share of time to spend with my child too?

Re: More Rights
In most cases it is possible to obtain very specific court ordered rights regarding visitation or temporary custody of your child. It is unclear from your question whether there has been any court Order entered, and if so, the nature of it's terms concerning custody, visitation and so forth. In any event you will need to know where the child and the other parent are located so that legal process can be served. You may be able to discover this information yourself, or it may be necessary to hire an investigator to do it for you. Once you have that information, you should consult with an attorney to review whatever legal documents currently exist and advise you further regarding your best options. I have handled many such cases, and if you are located in the eastern half of the state, I may be able to help you. You may call me for a free telphone consultation at 314-727-2822.
