Re: seperation papers

Why would you want to file "seperation [separation] papers"? The law does provide a statute which allows you to do so, but as a practical matter, you should go ahead and file for a divorce. There will be a period of separation lasting anywhere from a couple to several months, and if you reconcile you can always dismiss your Petition for Dissolution. You could also obtain a temporary Court Order if necessary to cover anything that needs to be covered while the divorce is pending. Please consult with a domestic relaions attorney in the area in which you live. Good luck.
