Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

If i was served a restraining order and not home (they left it on my door) is that legal? do I have to appear or can my girlfriend represent me? I travel for a living and wont be home that week

Unless your girlfriend is an attorney, she can not represent you in Court. If you are unable to appear in Court on your Court date, you can hire an attorney to represent you and the attorney may obtain a continuance. If you do neither then a full Order of Protection will be entered against you.
