Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Show cause order denied... next step? I filed a motion for contempt with a show cause order with the clerk last week, and the judge has denied it. I was given no reasoning, simply told it was denied. The contempt motion was based on my ex failing to give me notice when she relocated with our child. I am missing 4 overnight visits a month because of this relocation. I met with an attorney and was told that I need to file another motion for contempt, an objection to relocation, and a modification of our parenting plan. I really don't have another $10,000 to have another drawn out court battle, so I was hoping to act pro se. I was wondering if I could just file somethin like a motion to reconsider with the judge, explaining to him my loss of parenting time. Any advice would be great.

If you want to go Pro Se, why are you asking lawyers for legal advice. PErhaps you might approach a family law attorney in your area to assist you in a limited way, by preparing documents for you to file and argue Pro Se.
Good luck
I advise people not to attempt to act as their own attorney, because they are more likely to cause harm than do good. Perhaps you are experiencing first hand some of the difficuties that attorneys face everyday in legal proceedings. I can sympathize with you about the cost of legal services, but if the matter is important enough to take to court, it is important enough to hire an attorney. Good luck.
