Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Stolen property

About a year ago my father died and my half sister came to my parents house for the funeral of her father. While there she told almost every picture out the the family albums of my father without my mother knowing this.

Due to everything that was going on my mother noticed this months after the fact. After many calls and emails my Step-Sister will not reply to our request to return this pictures.

She had went through every album and has taken over a 100 pictures she did not have rights to.

Is there any legal rights I can take to get these pictures back.

SHe lives in Texas and my parents lived in Mo.

Please help

Thank you!

Re: Stolen property

The title you gave your question is correct, this is a case of theft. I would suggest that your mother send her a letter warning her that the pictures must be returned or a report will be made to the police. A small claims case may also be filed for the monitary value of the photos. If your mother has the negatives perhaps she can replace some of them. Other relatives will surely contribute some form their albums. This is probably about something deeper and some effort to mend fences may be in order.
