In Missouri people who are your age are too young to legally give consent. Therefore the father of your child committed at least statutory rape, and could wind up going to jail. You are smart enough to go to this website to seek legal advice. Are you smart enough to talk with your mother and others who will try to help you through this situation? Thousands or hundreds of thousands of other young girls have gotten pregnant, and it does not have to be the end of the world. But, you do need help. Try to think about what will be best for the child if you are having a tough time discussing this with your mother. Your mother will be the child's grandmother after all, and your mother may be more understanding and more helpful than you think. If you can not talk with her, I would suggest a counselor at school or at church. Talk with an adult. I hope that you will follow my advice and get the help that you need for your own sake as well as the child's.
