Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

hi my name is Tommy and i live in Missouri....my wife and i split up and she has a new bf....she took my daughter and my car which is in my name only, but she is a cosigner on the loan. the tags are also in my name...she came to my apt when i wasn't home and took the title too and i am wondering if it is legal for me to take the car back and not get into any trouble with the police? My friend told me that if i took the tags that she could call child services and i would go to jail if i did this. i was wondering if this is also true?

You own the car. Why wouldn't you just take the car back?
