Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

visitation

I have a question about visitation. I was never married to the father of my child. We did, however go to court for custody. I have sole physical custody, and he has visitation. We had a clause put in our order we each drove 1 way for his visitation. He has now moved to a different state, and is an 1 1/2 hour away. Do I need to find an attorney to change this clause, or is there anything that you know that I can do about this. I don't feel that I should have to drive that far. Thank you in advance for your response.

Re: visitation

Yes, you would need to go to court and seek a modification of the existing order. You would be well advised to hire an attorney if you are going to do this. Most attorneys will charge fees in the range of $1500 and you would have to pay the filing fees, sheriff's fees and so forth as well. It may not be worth the expense and aggravation if this is the only term you wish to modify, but we do these types of things all of the time. I must also warn you against hiring any lawyer who uses this site soley for the purpose of soliciting new business.
