what happens if I voluntarily give up parental rights in a childsupport case

You may lose the authority to make decisions about your child, while retaining the abligation to support the child. Until another person adopts your position as to teh child, you remain potentially liable for support, even thourgh you have relinquished any authority to control or decide. You may wish to consult directly with an attorney in your area, before making such a decision.
