Treat your father with respect. If you are not getting along with your father now, in time you would not get along with your grandfather either. Don't spoil two relationships just because you are unwilling to be subservient in one. To become a ward of the state, you would have little or no control over where you live. It does not sound like that is what you desire. If you truly feel that life would be better for all (and your grandparents are willing to take you in) then tell your parents why you want to move in with your grandparents. If things are as terrible as you make it sound at home, they might be happy to have you out of the house. From what you described, things are not so bad that the state would terminate your parents right to determine where you live. Therefore, you will ahve to convince them why it woudl be better for you to leave.
Good luck
