Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
If my wife got pregnant with another man's child, would I still be legally responsible for that child if our divorce wasn't final when the child is born?
1 Answer from Attorneys
In Missouri the law presumes that any child born during a marriage is the child of the husband and wife. We all know that women have children by other men while married, and the law allows for the husband to protect himself from the unfairness of having to support another man's child by taking the approprate legal action. If you have an attorney, you should consult with that attorney about this and he or she will know what to do. If you do not have an attorney, you need to hire one now. I have handled a large number of these matters myself, and I might be able to offer you my legal services if you are not already represented and if you are in my area. Good luck.
