Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

What will happen if an answer to a petition for divorce is filed one day late? My answer to my husbands petition will be one day late and I want to make sure that it doesn't delay or nullify the petition.

Many judges freely give defendants an ex tension of time to answer, if you request it before time expires. Technically a late answer means the case can be decided by default on the petition.
